    Pros:

    Game sound quality

    Voice quality

    Cons:

No manual with the headset or online

Recommended set-up gave low game sound output

Earphone covers are just ok for comfort

    No mic mute

I picked these up on sale at Target for $70. I have been eyeballing the Turtle Beach headsets, but I ran across these and decided to give them a try, since I am a huge fan of Skullcandy earbuds. There were no directions in the box, which is fine because I just went to the Skullcandy website to get directions. However, I found that the only thing they have is a wiring diagram to get the product set up. I followed the directions and got everything working, but the sound output was too low for my tastes, it was an ok listening volume with the inline volume control maxed out, but I got the headphones so I can crank them at night when wife and kiddos are asleep. My thoughts were that it might be better to actually hook them up through a source that could amplify them such as a stereo, which I have. I e-mailed their tech support and they promptly confirmed my suspicions. It was a very speedy reply. After trying it that way I was very pleased with the sound output, and the quality. It was very clear, not muddy at all. The voice quality of my friends was good, and they said mine was good as well. The ear covers are ok, they are a harder cloth cover, not the foam I am used to. I guess I prefer the foam for comfort, but the style of these Skullcandys does allow my ears to breathe.

Overall I think this is a great product for those on a budget.

Very comfortable wear, but after awhile your ears may get sore. The sound is very good but when using it as a mic on Xbox Live, your friends voices might not come out too clear against the sound of the game. Such games as Halo 3 where you cannot turn the volume down on, the headset cant really help. Overall good mic but it would of been very helpful if I didn’t have to change my preferences to speaker and instead the headset already integrate the sound alongside a mic headset. The headset comes with a audio cable that connects to your 360′s audio cables so that the other end can connect to the headphone jack of the headset. Then connect the mic jack to your controller and you’re ready to go.

I am not a pro gamer and I haven’t used any other gaming headsets, but I can tell you that SkullCandy makes some of the best headphones. So of course the sound on this headset is amazing! You have a cord that you can connect to it, so that you can insert them in to the red/white audio slots in the back of your tv/monitor. The cord is really long so it is a comfortable legnth away for you. The only thing that I did not like about the headset is the fact that it was sort of hard to hear my teamates talking while playing games such as COD 4. After I turned the sound down somewhat lower within the game, it was ok. The quality is very good though and will help you out alot in games where you need to be aware of where the enemie may be. I was hearing small things up close, such as enemies walking behind me trying to sneak up behind me. So I would turn around and get them before they could get me, lol. This is a great headset and they are still great looking. I didnt have any problems setting any of them up and everything with the headset worked great!
